Alguien preguntó a Robert Capa por el secreto de su capacidad para lograr retratos naturales y sinceros: "interesarse por las personas y que las personas lo noten". A esa regla dorada habría que añadir una observación realizada por Steinbeck durante un viaje que compartió con Capa por la URSS: "lograba moverse silenciosamente y hacer fotos sin ser visto". Discrección y sinceridad, el secreto de un maestro.
